Javad Daraei (Persian:جواد دارایی, born 1992) is a British-Iranian film director, screenwriter, and playwright, known for his underground films that expose the harsh realities faced by persecuted minorities in Iran—including women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with disabilities. Javad Owji (; born 24 July 1966) is an Iranian oil engineer and politician who served as the Minister of Petroleum of Iran from 2021 to 2024. Early life and education Owji was born in Shiraz in 1966. He received a bachelor's degree in oil engineering from Petroleum University of Technology in Ahvaz. Career From 1980 Owji worked in the oil-related public offices. He was the deputy oil minister and the head of the National Iranian Gas Company from 2009 to 2013 during the last term of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Javad Sadr (; 1912–1990) was an Iranian diplomat and politician who held various public and cabinet posts. He was one of the Iranian ambassadors to Japan. He was the minister of interior and minister of justice in the 1960s. Early life and education Sadr was born in Tehran in 1912. He received a degree in law from the University of Tehran and a PhD from a French university. Career Following his graduation Sadr started his career at the Ministry of Interior. Mohammad Javad Bagher Tondguyan (; 16 June 1950 – 16 December 1991) was an Iranian engineer and petroleum minister under Prime Minister Mohammad-Ali Rajai from 2 September to 3 November 1980 when he was captured by the Iraqi forces in November 1980 during Iran-Iraq war. Early life and education Tondguyan was born in Tehran on 16 June 1950. Tondguyan was involved in opposition movement against Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in 1967 and was detained for eleven months and interrogated by the SAVAK. During this period he met Mohammad Khatami.
